Thiago Motta is set to make a shock U-turn on his decision to leave Paris Saint-Germain and sign a new contract with the club alongside Gregory van der Wiel

Motta was vocal about his desire to leave PSG earlier this summer and hinted he would like to join Atletico Madrid, even attempting to force through a move by skipping training last month. However, talks between the Ligue 1 champions and the Vicente Calderon side eventually proved to be unfruitful as the Parisians refused to let go of the 32-year-old.
The former Inter midfielder, whose existing deal runs until June 2016, has now made the decision to stay in Ligue 1 for at least one additional season after all and has already held talks with PSG over a new and improved contract.
Both parties have yet to iron out the final details, but the Parc des Princes side are confident Motta will ink a new deal sooner rather than later.
Van der Wiel, meanwhile, also appeared to be on his way out of PSG earlier this month when he claimed the club were keen to sell him, but the Dutchman, too, is now set to sign a contract renewal as all approaches for him have been rejected.
Van der Wiel, 27, faces stiff competition from Serge Aurier for the position of right-back, but Laurent Blanc is keen to keep him a part of his squad ahead of a busy season.
The defender's existing deal runs out in 2016, but the ex-Ajax man is set for a two-year extension.
