Canon announces EOS M3 mirrorless interchangeable lens camera

Canon has launched the EOS M3, the successor to its first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera, the EOS M. The M3 features a brand new 24.2 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and Canon’s latest DIGIC 6 image processor.

Other than that, there is also a new 49-point AF system with new Hybrid CMOS AF III, which is said to be 6.1x faster than the original EOS M, which had a notoriously slow autofocus system.

On the back is a 3.0-inch touchscreen display, that can tilt up 180 degrees for self portraits. The M3 also features a redesigned body with a more pronounced grip and a hotshoe mount on the top, customizable controls, and built-in flash. The M3 can also record videos in 1080p30 and has built-in NFC and Wi-Fi.

The EOS M3 is priced at £599.99 / €769.99 and will be available in April.
