Less than a week ago Google announced that its Helpouts platform will enable live-chatting with salespersons at the Play Store. Now in Malaysia Samsung announced that its Galaxy Live app will offer 24/7 live chats with customer care.
The app has been available for a while in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Taiwan and New Zealand and has over 3 million downloads.
The so-called Gold tier (available on flagships) offers premium privileges in local restaurants, Starbucks and other establishments. The app also offers device tracking, warranty details and extension.
The new live-chat feature will arrive as an update in April (at the earliest). It’s not clear if it will be available worldwide or not, though 24/7 support suggests that it will be.
