Taking a leaf out of Nick Cannon's book?
Nicki
Minaj's boyfriend wore his heart on his sleeve - literally - when it
came to the singer, but now Safaree Samuels has taken drastic measures
to erase his love from his life.
The
couple, who have always been rather secretive when it comes to their
relationship, have been subject to have they or haven't they broken up
rumours for month - but now it seems the star's former assistant is
having the last painful word.
Gone girl: Nicki Minaj's boyfriend
Safaree Samuels was seen on Sunday in Los Angeles, California, with two
of his three tattoos to the singer covered up and the last one looking
very faded
On
Sunday, Safaree was spotted riding motorcycles with his shirt off and
the hip hop personality was minus his two prominent odes top the
31-year-old Anaconda star.
The Trinidadian rapper had previously sported a picture of Nicki's face on his right peck and her name on the other.
But
those tattoos have clearly been covered up with much larger pieces, as
Safaree was showing off to be what appeared to be a motorcycle helmet on
the right side of his chest and a rose and locket on the other side.

The after: Safaree was showing off to

chest and a rose and locket on the other side
However, he is not done there as it appears his third tattoo to the star is in the process of being removed.
The
giant colour tattoo on his right forearm appeared to be drastically
faded as if he had undergone laser treatment to remove it.
Safaree only got that ink down back in November and endured almost 14 hours of pain in doing so.
Posting
a video the session, the hypeman explained - without letting in on the
nature if his feelings for Nicki - why he was getting the tattoo done.

That was quick: Safaree only got that ink down back in November and endured almost 14 hours of pain in doing so
He said in the video: 'You know a lot of people go out there and tattoo someone they don't know, you know, so why not tattoo someone I know.'
Rumours
the couple had split started back in May when the Starships singer
posted on her Twitter saying,': 'SINGLE N READY TO MINGLE'.
However, a source told Urban Islandz that they pair is still together and Nicki's references to being single are just part of her public persona.
According to the source, Nicki loves Safaree - just not his tattoos.
Strained: In May, Nicki posted she was
single on her Twitter but the pair was seen together, but not looking
so happy about it, last month
The
source said: 'Nicki didn’t like the attention that the tattoos were
bringing because she wants to keep her personal life very private.
'They
did had an argument about it because Safaree loves the tats but Nicki
Minaj doesn't but they are coming from far and knows each other before
fame so they worked it out.'
Of course, he would not be the first to regret a tattoo dedicated to their loved ones.
Recently
Nick Cannon had his ode to estranged wife Mariah Carey tattooed over
and Iggy Azalea had ASAP Rocky's name crossed out on her hand.
Keeping a low profile: According to a
source, the performer asked Safaree, pictured last year, to remove the
tattoos as it was drawing too much attention to her private life
