More than 120 firefighters battle massive out-of-control blaze as it rips through industrial factory

Firefighters were hard at work battling to contain an out of control blaze that tore into an industrial complex, threatening nearby homes and adjoining buildings.

More than 120 firefighters from 20 stations were called to Donmar Industries in Day Street in Lansvale of Sydney’s south-west shortly after 3.30pm on Friday.

The blaze was contained at around 5.30pm but firefighters are expected to remain at the scene overnight to ensure the fire is fully extinguished, according to 9News.

NSW Fire & Rescue Superintendent Ian Krimmer told 9News: ‘We received the first calls around 3.30 to this particular fire here. It’s been a very difficult operation for our fire crews.

‘Now the fire is not out – we have the fire surrounded. We have saved a number of adjoining factories but we still have a long fire fight ahead of us.
