But the pop star ensured she couldn't be likened to any of the Muppets when she stepped out on The X Factor stage on Sunday.
Cheryl
opted for understated glamour for the live elimination show in a
structured sparkly white mini-dress with sheer panelling detail.
It's all white on the night: Cheryl
Fernandez Versini was back on form in the style stakes on Sunday's X
Factor in a white and gold long-sleeved mini-dress
She
also went for a playful hairstyle, with her voluminous locks put up
into a ponytail with long curls cascading over her shoulders.
The 31-year-old finished off her ensemble with a pair of black and silver heels.
Meanwhile, fellow female judge Melanie Brown also made quite the bold statement in an all-white outfit.
Deciding
the ignore the old style advice of either having your cleavage or legs
on display, Mel B ripped up the fashion rulebook and showed off both.
Mix and match: Meanwhile, Melanie
Brown ripped up the fashion rule book by showing her legs and her
cleavage in her bizarre white gown
What an entrance: The duo made a glamorous arrival as they show kicked off to an explosive start
Zig-a-zig-bra: Mel seemed to be hailing her Spice Girls day with her bra showing clearly through her gown's plunging neckline
Girl power: The girls appeared to get on like a house on fire as they discussed the acts
Sleek and
chic: While both female judges opeted for white ensembles, they both
kept their hair and make-up sophisticated, with Cheryl opting for a long
flowing ponytail and Mel going for a slicked back vibe
Friends again: Cheryl and Simon appeared to get along better following their bust-up the previous evening
Standing ovation: Cheryl was keen to show off the intricate work on her dress, which was covered in multi-coloured gems
Her bizarre gown featured a shirt-like long-sleeved top with a plunging neckline, which put her nude bra clearly on display.
The bottom half of the creation was made up of a white mini-skirt with a long white lace panel of fabric.
However,
the former Spice Girl did keep her hair and make-up chic, slicking her
new shorter locks back from her face and opting for nude colours on her
cheeks and lips.
What a difference: Cheryl's fashion hit came after Saturday night's miss when she wore an over-the-top Lanvin creation
What a Muppet: Simon upset his fellow judge by referring to her as Kermit the Frog throughout Saturday's live show
Colourful: While Cheryl went for amphibian green, Melanie was in the pink in a coral number
All ruffled: Cheryl hit out at her critics on Instagram after the show
Cheryl appeared to get on better with her frenemy Simon Cowell after their war of words during Saturday night's performances.
The
ex-Girls Aloud star was visibly annoyed when the music mogul referred
to her as 'Kermit' throughout judging proceedings due to her
over-the-top green Lanvin gown with a huge shoulder ruffle.
The
singer took to Instagram to hit back at her boss following the episode,
uploading a picture the judging panel with the friendly frog character
superimposed in her place.
She
wrote: 'And here i am on the panel last night this one is especially
for those who have no opinion of their own until Simon tells them what
they should think #sheep #kermit'
Double blow: It may have been a good
night in the fashion stakes, but Cheryl's chances of winning took a
major hit after her acts Chloe-Jasmine Whichello and Stephanie Nala were
voted off
Fighting chance: Stereo Kicks were given another shot after winning the sing off against Chloe-Jasmine
