The recently announced Meizu M1 note will cost more in stores than on the web. The budget-friendly, colorful smartphone will cost CNY 999 (about $160) online.
There is no word on what price premium will the smartphone carry in stores. Meizu has close to 1,000 retail locations across China
The increased price will cover the costs associated with running a physical retail store such as rent, staff payroll, and product logistics among others. With such measures in place, it is clear that Meizu doesn’t make much money from selling those devices.
The above should hardly catch anyone by surprise. With 5.5” 1080p IGZO display, MT6752 chipset with octa-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 13MP main camera, and 3,140mAh battery, Meizu M1 note could easily cost twice as much.
