The successful coach has revealed is set to leave his current position after the tournament in France and does not expect Iker Casillas to quit the national team
Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has revealed that he aims to say farewell to the national team when his contract expires after Euro 2016.Del Bosque replaced Luis Aragones as coach after Euro 2008 and won the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012.
Spain were then eliminated at the group stages at this summer's World Cup in Brazil and Del Bosque aims to do make amends in France in two years' time before stepping down.
"I think Euro 2016 will be my last tournament as Spain boss," Del Bosque told Radio Nacional de Espana.
"We'll see what happens when we get to France. In theory, this is my last tournament."
The Spain coach then went on to insist that Iker Casillas will not be retiring from international duty. Reports from Spain suggested that the Real Madrid goalkeeper could say farewell to the national team after losing his starting berth to David de Gea, but Del Bosque is unaware of such a decision.
"I've read a story about Casillas wanting to retire from international duty, but I don't know anything about it.
"I don't think there's any truth to it. He has not told me anything."
