Time for redemption for Spurs?
Manchester City were Tottenham's tormentors last season
thumping them 6-0 at home and 5-1 away in two one-sided encounters. Can
the north London side avoid a repeat scenario?
One to watch... Sergio Aguero
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has hailed Manchester City's Sergio Aguero as the 'best striker in the world.' Pochettino
will be hoping that the Argentina striker will have an off day during
this afternoon's encounter. Aguero scored twice in his corresponding
fixture last year and will be hoping for a similar outcome.
Roberto Soldado in for Emmanuel Adebayor
The biggest team news from the visitors comes in the shape of
main striker Emmanuel Adebayor starting on the bench for the
much-maligned Roberto Soldado. Adebayor only returned from international
duty on Friday and Mauricio Pochettino has decided to select the
fresher legs of Soldado in what will a tough encounter for Spurs.
Starting XI: Lloris, Dier, Fazio, Kaboul (c), Rose; Capoue, Mason; Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela; Soldado
Subs: Vorm, Vertonghen, Dembele, Stambouli, Townsend, Adebayor, Kane.
