Dettol, NMA, team up against sub-standard products

Leading Health and Hygiene brand Dettol, from the stables of RB Nigeria Limited reiterated its commitment to combat sub-standard products in Nigeria during the 55th Annual Delegate Meeting and Annual General Conference 2015 of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA)which held last week at Ibadan, Oyo State.

Over the years, Dettol, has   consistently partnered with government and statutory bodies within the health sector including NMA , Ministry of Health, NAFDAC and local governments  to educate consumers about the best hygiene practices and contribute to the health and wellbeing of  Nigerian families for the last 50 years.

Speaking at the NMA conference 2015 tagged ‘The Nigerian Health Sector: Current Trends, Burning Issues and what the future holds, Dettol’s keynote speaker and Member of Global Hygiene Council, Dr. Nneoma Idika pointed out that the influx of grey markets, fake, cheap and poor quality products formed some of the burning issues in the Health Sector.

“For improved healthcare delivery in Nigeria, proper coordination of these burning issues is expedient. Intervention strategies should include private public partnerships to combat the menace of sub-standard products. RB Nigeria limited via its number one health and hygiene brand, Dettol is championing this course through the Anti-Cheapie Campaign against suboptimal foods, drugs, antiseptics, cosmetics in Nigeria.” Dr. Nneoma stated

Providing the rationale behind Dettol's campaign against sub-standard products, Marketing Director, RB Nigeria Limited Mr. Oguzhan Silivrili stated ‘We are focused on educating Nigerian families about the need to embrace gold standard protection against germs. Every day in the market, we see newly introduced sub-standard, non-certified antiseptic and mainly imported products which does not deliver the optimum germ killing benefit to Nigerian families; as Dettol we are saying Nigerians should not take this type of risk with their loved ones”.

Commending RB Nigeria limited on the anti-cheapie initiative, Vice President 1, Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Titus Ibekwe stated,  ‘ Dettol is doing a great job, it is important to emphasize on quality and not on costing because using sub-standard products become more costly on the long run’.
