More camera samples surface from Huawei Honor 6 Plus dual camera

The Huawei Honor 6 Plus hit markets just a few hours ago and met its rumored release date. The hype is growing around the new smartphone and primarily because of its unique dual-camera design, which is said to give the HTC One (M8 Eye) a run for its money. The device is offering variable aperture shooting – a real rarity among today’s smartphones.

Today we stumbled across a number of sample photos from the smartphone, along with the ones we already showed you a few weeks ago.

So why is this important and how is it better that what HTC already have to offer. Unlike the HTC One (M8 Eye) the Huawei Honor 6 Plus has, what it calls a “symmetrical dual-camera” setup for its main shooter, with two 8MP sensors, as well as a third 8MP front-facing camera. Perhaps even more important is the dedicated powerful image signal processor (ISP), which is in charge of doing all the camera calculations and makes the changing aperture possible.

While Huawei is definitely a bold early adopter of the new technology it is likely that the Honor 6 Plus will be more of a proof of concept device, than a final polished product, as is usually the case with experimental new tech. However the photos are still quite impressive especially when considering the tiny lenses that made them possible.
