Spotify reportedly planning to enter online-video business

Spotify, the popular music-streaming company, is planning to venture into the online-video business, according to a report by Wall Street Journal.

The Swedish company is currently looking for partnerships, and has even approached companies that create content for YouTube, the report notes, adding that the video service will be available to both subscribers and non-subscribers alike.

Spotify is holding a media event on May 20 in New York. Although the details haven’t been revealed yet, it is expected that the company will take the opportunity to announce its video plans, the report said.
