Arsenal have the advantage in Cech race, says Chelsea goalkeeping coach

Chelsea goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon believes the Gunners' location and title ambitions are best suited for the 33-year-oldPetr Cech Chelsea Chelsea's goalkeeper coach Christophe Lollichon believes Arsenal have the advantage in the race to sign Petr Cech.
The 33-year-old has told the club privately that he would like to join the Gunners after he lost his place as Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper to Thibaut Courtois last season.
Lollichon admits Chelsea face a difficult task in preventing Cech from leaving and believes Arsenal would be the best fit for the Czech Republic international due to the club’s location and title aspirations.
"At Chelsea, we started to prepare for the next season in December. We knew that the situation with Cech as back-up cannot last," Lollichon told RMC.
"It's great for the club to have two keepers of such quality, but it cannot last. For someone like Cech to stay on the bench is hard.
“His family like England, and a player is happiest when his family is happy. He wants to stay in England. The Premier League is his primary objective. But it will also depends on the conditions of the club.
“The advantage is that Arsenal is a top club, with a philosophy that pleases him, plus they are in London. I don't think Tottenham have the same ambitions as Arsenal. Also, Petr wants to break a record for the clean sheets in the Premier League.”
Lollichon also revealed Cech considered the possibility of joining Paris Saint-Germain, but feels a move to Ligue 1 would be a step down from the Premier League.
“Everyone knew his value as a goalkeeper, and now we know the value of the man. He never complained and was in Courtois' service,” he added.
“At 33, he still has at least three or four excellent seasons at the highest level. He has the talent, competence and professionalism to improve any high-level club.
"Whenever he played he was remarkable. Given his lifestyle, his desire, his love for football and that he is a perfectionist, the club he joins will have an enormous chance to win trophies.
“Much was said about him at PSG. Even last year, we spoke about that. Obviously he would add value. Salvatore Sirigu is a good keeper, but Cech is still above him.
"The problem is that, when you have developed in England, Ligue 1 seems light compared to what Petr has experienced.”
