Maria Sharapova had to work harder than some may have expected against world No 34 Zarina Diyas to book her place in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon.
Their last and only encounter in the third round of this year's Australian Open was rather one-sided with Sharapova winning 6-1, 6-1 in just over an hour.
But this was a far tighter affair, though Sharapova still won in straight-sets, taking one hour and 37 minutes to beat Kazakhstan's Diyas 6-4, 6-4.
